Dog Trainer Cheshire - We fix bad behaviours

Aggression I Resource Guarding I Anxiety

We specialise in challenging dogs and resolving hard to manage behaviours. Over decades of operation we’ve seen it all so if you’re dog is presenting with any difficult behaviours then we can help fix them.

‘Most issues can be resolved in only two training sessions, even aggression!’

- Aggressive behaviour
- Chewing and destruction
- Digging in the garden
- Jumping up
- Nuisance barking
- Pulling on the lead
- Separation Anxiety
- Toileting in the house

As well as addressing bad behaviours, we can train your dog to achieve basic obedience and even have tailored Puppy Training sessions, so you and your puppy can get off to a flying start.

1-to-1 Training Programs

Carefully designed training programs to correct all behavioural issues and set you and your dog up for life. We can address all behavioural issues.

Does your do have issues with dog aggression, dog reactivity, or simply go over the top when it comes to other dogs being around? If so, this specially designed program for fear and aversion in dogs is the best option for you and your canine. The vast majority of fear and aggression behaviours can be resolved in only two sessions.

Resource guarding presents as aggressively protecting objects and food which may be accompanied by growling, snarling and even snapping. In two sessions you will be a lot more confident around your dog as the resource guarding becomes a lot more manageable.

Separation anxiety is an anxious response when you leave. If your dog is stressed out, clearly anxious and constantly following you then these are revealing signs of separation anxiety. Symptoms range from light crying to full blown panic episodes which can lead to property damage or even harm to your dog. This can stem from a lack of leadership and an unclear communication dynamic between you and your dog. We can help resolve these issues quickly, restoring calm to your home.

Dog Training Cheshire provide effective and comprehensive puppy training in the comfort of your own home. In these sessions we’ll teach you how to understand what your puppy needs from you and how you can develop into a strong leader and owner right from the start. These popular sessions form the perfect foundation for a strong relationship between you and your dog.

Rather shockingly, almost all dog behavioural problems can be resolved through the course of just two of our sessions. No word of a lie. That’s why we are the experts. Quickly developing a strong relationship based on clear communication is the key to all of this – no mixed signals just straight-forward instruction. Real world results are what matter and that’s what we provide. If your dog presents with aggression, fearfulness, anxiety or other unruly behaviours, we can help in two effective sessions.

Home Training

Why we do it

Your dog lives with a family, in a home and training in this familiar home environment is far less stressful for your dog (and sometimes for the owner).Training at home is usually more effective as this can be where most bad behaviours occur. If your dog does not listen to you in the home environment then it's highly likely he won't listen outside, where there are far more distractions.

Training in your home is a one-to-one system, without the distraction of other dogs or the stress of being sent away for training classes for disrupting the others. Of course, if you are experiencing problems outside the home such as pulling on the lead or dog aggression, we will set up controlled training situations in the park or wherever is most practical.

Our Training Methods

Balanced Training produces remarkable, consistent results

When it comes to dog training there are two divided schools of thought and methods.

All Positive’: All Positive training methods, as the name suggests, rely very heavily on positive reinforcement and reward-based techniques, essentially rewarding the dog for good behaviours. While this can certainly have beneficial effects on dog behaviour, this training method crucially misses out an entire half of the training puzzle. Importantly, this method doesn’t teach the dog right from wrong, it simply uses treats and lures to encourage certain behaviours.

‘Balanced’: Balanced training incorporates two key techniques: positive reinforcement AND negative correction and that’s where the distinction lies. Balanced training encourages good behaviour while removing bad behaviours in such a way that dogs begin to really understand what behaviours are acceptable and which ones are aren’t. With support from you, the owner, your dog develops a grounded understanding of acceptability and boundaries. There is a reason Dog Trainer Cheshire stands by Balanced methods and that’s because they produce the fastest, most reliable results.
